HG Christie reopens Abaco Offices
HG Christie CEO John Christie cut the ribbon on the company's newly reconstructed Marsh Harbour offices.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Nearly three years since the passage of Hurricane Dorian, HG Christie has formally reopened its Abaco offices.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, the Abacos experienced extreme devastation, the impact of which is still being felt by residents there.

Like countless other businesses HG Christie’s offices in both Marsh Harbour and Hope Town were completely destroyed.

“The damage to our offices was very extensive,” said CEO John Christie in a statement.

“Like everyone, we were truly heartbroken by the aftermath of the storm not just to our buildings but to the communities we serve as well, but as a team, we were immediately committed to rebuilding and reopening.”

HG Christie’s office in Hopetown was destroyed following the passage of Hurricane Dorian.

The work to restore both sites began almost immediately with the company’s agents and residents alike working diligently to rebuild and restore the offices and their surrounding settlements. Now, nearly three years later, those repairs have been completed and HGC is preparing to
formally reopen its Abaco offices.

“During these past few years, our commitment to doing our part each and every day has been filled with love and passion for this beautiful Abaco chain of islands,” Christie said.

The reopening of HGC’s Abaco offices coincides with the company’s celebration of its 100-year anniversary. In addition to embarking on a yearlong campaign of good corporate citizenry, the milestone also saw the company launch new office spaces on Grand Bahama.

“We are proud to have rebuilt our new and improved office spaces in both Marsh Harbour and Hope Town, both with the same island charm that buyers and sellers from around the world have grown to love.”

After suffering devastation and closure due to damage from Hurricane Dorian HG Christie’s offices in Marsh Harbour Abaco have also been fully restored.

As the company continues its centennial celebrations, company executives and agents say they are fueled, motivated, and looking forward to providing
top-tier services to residents on the island of Abaco and beyond.

“Although I have observed fairly high interest and steady growth in The Abaco Cays over the past 20+ years, I have never witnessed such a high level of
investor confidence as I have seen in this past year,” said Top Abaco agent, Franklyn Knowles, who reflected on the company’s comeback.

Knowles said: “It is quite remarkable considering what these communities have been through. I felt confident that The Cays would rebound, but it has actually been to a much higher degree than I could have imagined. It truly says a lot about our community members, including full-time residents, second homeowners, and long-time visitors, and their determination to not have it any other way.”
