Foreign Affairs Minister Darren Henfield shot down what he said is fake news that has been circulating on social media, which suggested Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Secretary Rhoda Jackson was unceremoniously dismissed from her post.

According to social media, Jackson was fired after calling on Haitian Embassy officials to address why they made a public statement in the media surrounding government’s shanty town shut down.

Henfield told media that Jackson received her directives from him and confirmed that she was not “dismissed from her post for having followed those directives.”

He did confirm however, that Cabinet decided on Jackson’s transfer to the Ministry of Youth.
