Hanna Martin returns to the House
Englerston MP, Glenys Hanna Martin, makes a presentation to the House after a two-week suspension.

Englerston MP Glenys Hanna Martin returned to the House of Assembly today after she was suspended by House Speaker Haltson Moultrie for two sessions.

Hanna Martin maintained her suspension was unjust and called for the speaker to expunge all of the contributions of support from Free National Movement Parlmentarians at last week’s sitting.

She said the speaker made a gross assault on her character and was attempting to silence the people of Englerston.

Today’s vote of no confidence follows a two week standoff between the government and the Official Opposition over Moultrie’s disciplinary action on the minority members, which resulted in the suspension and naming of Hanna Martin two weeks ago. Cat Island, Rum, Cay and San Salvador MP Philip “Brave” Davis, South Andros and Mangrove Cay MP Picewell Forbes and Exuma and Ragged Island MP Chester Cooper were then suspended last Wednesday for two sittings.
