Grand Bahama teen charged with murder

GRAND BAHAMA – A 17-year-old juvenile of Martin Town, Eight Mile Rock was charged with murder on Monday, June 24, 2019.

The teen was arraigned before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbye Ferguson in magistrate court number one.

The teen was not required to enter a plea, and the matter was adjourned to August 13, 2019, to be heard before the Juvenile Panel.

The teen was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until trial.

Also in court yesterday, Kingsley Cooper, 30, of Scott Avenue in Freeport, Grand Bahama, was arraigned before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbye Ferguson in magistrate court number one, charged with possessing an illegal firearm and ammunition.

Cooper pleaded guilty to both charges and was fined $16,000 or 18 months in prison.
