Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources Michael Pintard went on the record Wednesday and confirmed that his ministry is aware of the of the concerns highlighted by vendors at Potter’s Cay Dock, who claimed contamination of the seabed is what has led to the dozens of conch poisoning cases recently.
Vendors told Eyewitness News recently, that work at the water treatment plant allegedly disturbed the water table in the area and subsequently poisoned water, which flows between Potter’s Cay, Arawak Cay, and Montague Beach.
At the last press briefing by the Ministry of Health, there were over 40 confirmed cases of conch poisoning in New Providence.
