GG makes first official visit to hometown; donates tablets to Long Island students

LONG ISLAND, BAHAMAS — Governor General Sir Cornelius A Smith, accompanied by his wife, Lady Clara, made a first official visit to his hometown, Long Island, Thursday, November 26, 2020.

The governor general gave the keynote address at the N.G.M. Major High School Speech Day Awards Ceremony in Buckleys, and presented electronic tablets to Ministry of Education District Superintendent Melinda Pratt. Also at the school presentation was Long Island MP Adrian Gibson.

Smith also toured the Water and Sewerage Corporation’s water plant in McKenzie during his official visit.
