Olympian Steven Gardiner and Trevor Barry were the only winners from the region yesterday at the Kamili Skolimowskiej Memorial track meet in Poland.

Gardiner, who competed for the first time since June, set a new meet record of 44.43 seconds to cruise to an easy win.

Gardiner finished almost a second better than Poland’s Karol Zalewski (45.32 seconds) and the United States’ Christian Taylor (45.34 seconds).

As for Barry, he cleared 2.27 meters (m) to take the gold medal over Jeron Robinson, from the United States.
