Garden Hills man to be charged with manslaughter for death of infant girl

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — A 30-year-old resident of Gardens Hills is expected to be arraigned today for manslaughter in connection with the death of a three-month-old infant girl last week.

The infant, Tenisha Tanya Milfort, was reportedly in the custody of a family friend while her mother was at work on January 16.

The incident reportedly occurred sometime around 11am.

Police said the family friend believed the baby was asleep, but after a short while, noticed the baby was unresponsive.

The infant, who was observed with injuries to the face was transported to the hospital via private vehicle for medical assistance; however, medical personnel confirmed no vital signs of life.

Police intend to charge two other people in Magistrates Court for separate matters today.

In the first matter, a 25-year-old man from Coconut Grove will be arraigned on murder charges in connection to the shooting death of 34-year-old Takeil Tynes of Montell Heights.

The incident reportedly occurred around 2.30am on January 6.

The victim was reportedly at a local bar on Washington Street and Robinson Road when he was approached and subsequently shot multiple times by an unknown man.

In the second matter, a 22-year-old man will be arraigned on murder charges in connection to the death of Lavandro Paul.

The victim was reportedly shot multiple times on July 10, 2022. Paul was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on December 17, 2022.
