Freedom Farm falls to Japan 8-0

The Freedom Farm boys team playing in the 2018 Cal Ripken Baseball World Series came up short on Thursday against Japan in the winners’ bracket qualification game in Branson, Missouri.

Japan jumped out to an early lead and never allowed team Bahamas to get back in the game, cruising to an 8-0 win.

The loss eliminated The Bahamas from the competition. Japan will now take on Korea in the semifinal round.

Japan was undefeated in the group stage at 3-0, while The Bahamas finished second in Group F with a 2-2 record.

The Bahamas was one of 24 teams competing in the tournament and one of just 10 international teams alongside the aforementioned teams in their pool – Korea, Japan, Canada and the Dominican Republic.
