NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Fox Foundation granted $120, 000 worth of scholarships to a number of students within the Kemp Road Community today as part of its 9th Annual Back-To-School Giveaway initiative; organizers also distributed approximately 1,500 bags to students who are preparing for the upcoming academic year.
The event also featured a number of fun activities for kids within the community to enjoy; a bouncing castle, rock climbing, face painting and educational games were on site. Shoes and a number of hair care and dental vouchers were also being dispersed.
Minister of Education Glennys Hanna-Martin and Member of Parliament for Freetown Wayne Munroe made appearances at the well attended event.
Co-Founder of the Fox Foundation Adrianna Fox said this is the first year that the foundation has been able to secure corporate sponsors for the event, “The Sports Center donated shoes, Bay Street Medical donated medical checkup vouchers and a number of other companies provided support this year; we always call on corporate sponsors to help and I think today was the start of that.”
Fox invited other interested businesses who would like to assist their annual big giveback to visit the foundation’s website at www.FoxFoundationBah.org or email them at FoxFoundationBah@gmail.com
