NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Morehouse College Alumni Association Bahamas Chapter has announced the appointment of Mark Humes to the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS) Advisory Board. Humes, a 1996 graduate of Morehouse College and the current president of the Bahamas chapter, brings extensive experience in education and leadership to the role.
Humes, a former assistant professor in the School of English Studies at the University of The Bahamas, has long been an advocate for academic excellence and community engagement. His appointment aligns with Morehouse College’s mission to deliver high-quality education that equips students with the skills to thrive in today’s dynamic professional landscape.
The Morehouse College Division of Professional and Continuing Studies offers students the opportunity to pursue Bachelor of Arts degrees in education studies or kinesiology. It also provides various academic and support services, including Morehouse Online, articulation agreements, certificate programs, and dual enrollment opportunities. The advisory board, which includes representatives from government, industry, and academia, is responsible for guiding curriculum and program development to ensure they meet student and workforce demands.
“I am honored to join the PCS Advisory Board and collaborate with distinguished colleagues dedicated to shaping the future of education at Morehouse College,” said Humes. “This is an incredible opportunity to give back to an institution that profoundly impacted my life and to help prepare future generations for success.”
In his new role, Humes will contribute to reviewing and evaluating the division’s curriculum, providing insights into how educational programs can best meet the needs of students and employers, and advising on trends in education and workforce development.
