Rumors of former financial secretary Simon Wilson and his status with the government was the centre of attention on social media recently, following a tabloid article alleging he was on vacation for one year, but was terminated last week from public service.
The article said Wilson’s termination came as a result of him being held responsible for some $1 million that went missing before the last general election.
Press Secretary Anthony Newbold, however, did not confirm the story in his weekly press briefing on Tuesday and opted to steer clear of the assertions.
