Leading accountant and former chairman of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation (BCCEC) Gown Bowe said a shift in the way marijuana is viewed in The Bahamas is needed.
Bowe weighed in on the marijuana debate recently, as government seeks to form a committee to assist in determining the next steps for the drug’s legalisation in the country.
Bowe said he believes that the medicinal uses far outweigh the negative attributes attached to the recreational use of the drug.
Noting the drug’s widespread international acceptance, Bowe also expressed the need for The Bahamas to not be left playing catch up to the rest of the world.
