Flamingo Air given the go-ahead to resume flights

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Civil Aviation Authority has given Flamingo Air the go-ahead to resume its flights Eyewitness News understands.

The airline found itself in a predicament last week when a viral video surfaced, revealing an alarming mid-flight situation where one of its aircraft’s passenger doors was observed hanging open. This incident unfolded during an early morning Flamingo Air flight from the Lynden Pindling International Airport en route to Staniel Cay on Monday, October 2nd.

The aircraft which had 17 passengers was able to return safely to LPIA without further complications.

Flamingo Air issued a statement addressing the incident, acknowledging that the problem stemmed from a “latch fastening failure.” Furthermore, the airline has disclosed that the responsible employee has faced disciplinary action and that it was planning to conduct refresher courses for all employees to prevent any recurrence of such an incident in the future.
