Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries
NASSAU, BAHAMAS- A woman involved in a head-on traffic accident in Abaco died in hospital on Sunday, according to police.
The drivers of a Jaquar and a Toyota Passo collided on Don McKay Boulevard around 1 a.m., according to authorities.
Both drivers and the female passenger of the Toyota Passo were transported to the Marsh Harbour Health Center.
The woman, identified as Katrice Juliette Maycock, 31, of Freeport, Grand Bahama, died in hospital.
The driver of the Jaquar was treated for non-life threatening injuries and subsequently discharged.
The driver of the Toyota Passo was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later airlifted to New Providence for further medical attention.
He was admitted to Doctors Hospital, police said.
According to police, both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
This is the second traffic fatality in Abaco in recent months.
In June, a man was killed after his red and black Honda motorcycle a black Mazda collided head-on.
He died on scene.
The driver and passenger of the Mazda, both of whom were from Marsh Harbour, Abaco, were transported to the Marsh Harbour Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident marked the 24thtraffic fatality for the year.
There have been 30 traffic fatalities in The Bahamas for 2019.
