Eleuthera woman dies in car crash

Traffic cops on Eleuthera are investigating a fatal car crash which claimed the life of a female Tuesday evening, putting the fatality count at __ for the year.

The accident, traffic investigators said, occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. yesterday. Officers responded to the scene where they said they found a Chevrolet Cobalt car, lodged in bushes on Queens Highway, just south of Upper Bouge.

An adult female, believed to be the driver of the car, was confirmed dead at the scene, police said.

Authorities said however, that they have not yet positively identified the victim.

Police on the island are currently said to be investigating how the vehicle left the carriage way and veered into nearby bushes, subsequently killing the lone occupant.

Traffic police are now urging motorists to exercise extreme caution, and utilize seatbelts, while driving.

Investigations are ongoing.
