Eleuthera investigators probe alleged drowning

Police investigators on Eleuthera are said to be probing the alleged drowning of a man, which according to police, occurred Thursday.

According to reports, a man was swimming on a beach near Tarpum Bay shortly after 1:00 p.m., when he was discovered lying motionless on the seabed.

He was removed from the water and taken to the local clinic in Rock Sound, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations are said to be ongoing.
