With a pending $70 million lawsuit against the government for damages and failure to honour a lease agreement with former Member of Parliament (MP) Leslie Miller, Deputy Prime Minister Peter Turnquest reasoned Wednesday that the government will only proceed with contracts that benefit the country in the long term – even if that means the government will have to pay out to end existing contracts.
