Doctor’s Hospital on track for Grand Bahama opening in 2025, plans expansion to Eleuthera

NASSAU, BAHAMAS—Construction of Doctor’s Hospital’s new 25-bed hospital in Grand Bahama is moving ahead at a satisfactory pace, is on budget, and is expected to open between the summer and fall of 2025, according to its Chief Financial Officer, Dennis Deveaux, who noted that the BISX-listed healthcare provider is eyeing a new medical center in Rock Sound, Eleuthera.

“We are already in Grand Bahama; we have two clinics—one in Eight Mile Rock and one in downtown Freeport on West Mall Drive. We have a full urgent care center in George Town, Exuma, and are planning to open a new medical center in Rock Sound, Eleuthera,” said Deveaux.

He added: “We will be in Eleuthera this Friday to engage the residents to understand what their needs are and how we can cooperate with the existing providers on the ground. We certainly want to elevate the level of care nationally. We continue to progress at a very satisfactory pace with our new social, which is a 25-bed brand-new facility in downtown Grand Bahama. Our hospital is on budget, and we expect the hospital to open sometime in the summer to fall of 2025.

On Wednesday, Doctors Hospital officially launched a new medical facility located on Paradise Island to its slate of medical services. Company executives held an official opening ceremony for the 3,500 sqft facility located in the Paradise Village Shopping Plaza.
