National Security Minister Marvin Dames said in an interview on Thursday that the recent shanty town raids were not the first time the illegal communities have been searched, and promised that it would not be the last.

During a joint operation in several shanty towns Wednesday, 35 persons were arrested.

Eyewitness News understands the operation was a collaboration between the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF), Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) and Department of Immigration.
