NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Da Bush Cook is teaming up with Lupus242 for its Burgers For A Cause initiative this month.

According to a statement, the fun, “FOODraiser” concept was launched earlier this year in partnership with Rotaract Club of Nassau Sunset to help raise funds for established NGOs and leading community causes.

Chef Corey Small, owner and operator of Da Bush Cook was inspired by the color purple when he created two signature burgers for the cause. In addition to traditional toppings, the grilled chicken and salmon burgers are garnished with purple cabbage and purple onions and served on whole wheat buns with a side salad.

“For Lupus242, we wanted a healthy and flavorful combination to appeal to both lupus fighters and supporters,” Small said.

“We’re pleased to partner with the organization during their awareness month to support their goals and the good work that they do in the community.”

During the launch event, Lupus242 Vice President, Shonalee Johnson thanked Da Bush Cook team for selecting the group.

Johnson said: “Our history with Chef Small and his team goes back many years. Da Bush Cook catered some of our past fundraisers and events. They continue to be innovative in their approach to business and we were happy to be selected for this giveback campaign.”

Now through the end of May, Da Bush Cook will donate 20 percent of proceeds from the two burgers to Lupus 242 for its ongoing outreach and educational initiatives.
