NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Fifteen Cubans were arrested in waters off Anguilla Cay yesterday after United States Coast Guard officials spotted the migrants in a vessel on Tuesday, according to authorities.
The group, which included men, women and children, was transported to New Providence yesterday morning and handed over to the relevant authorities.
In a statement, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) said it had notified the Cuban embassy.
The RBDF said it continues to remain a vigilant presence while patrolling territorial waters of The Bahamas and working with other law enforcement agencies.
