Investigations continued Wednesday into what led to the crash of a twin engine Cessna aircraft shortly after takeoff from Rock Sound International Airport in Rock Sound, Eleuthera.

Police confirmed that three American citizens lost their lives in the fatal crash. Their bodies were transported to the capital late Wednesday evening.

Eyewitness News was first on the ground in the southern Eleuthera settlement as local authorities raced against the clock to process the scene before nightfall.

Chief Air Accident Investigator Delvin Major told Eyewitness News that he and his team are expected back on the island today to continue processing the scene.
