NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Commonwealth Brewery Ltd. (CBL) teamed up with its Heineken 0.0 brand as a 2022 Green Flag Sponsor at the recent Bahamas Hope Challenge.

The subsidiary of The Heineken Company is devoting special efforts to expand its social responsibility initiatives throughout The Bahamas.

The team engaged participants of the cycle, run, and walk cancer fundraiser, which took place in Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera, this past Saturday.

Heineken 0.0 is an alcohol-free version of the flagship beer that delivers great refreshment at just 69 calories.

“As a company, Heineken has had a long-standing commitment to evoking positive change in today’s world,” said Premium Beers Brand Representative Michaela Munnings.

“As a part of our responsible consumption ambitions, we emphasise that beer can indeed be a part of a well-balanced lifestyle, not only through our packaging and marketing but most certainly through our partnerships.

“As The Bahamas Hope Foundation focuses on raising money to support initiatives related to health & wellness in The Bahamas, the partnership was a perfect match!”

Bahamas Hope Challenge (formerly Ride for Hope) was not a race; however, it was a gathering of people who cycled long distances, raising money towards the cause in previous years.

This year the organisation rebranded the event allowing persons to cycle, run or walk distances of their choosing and at their own pace. Similarly, Heineken 0.0 enables consumers the flexibility to celebrate anywhere, anytime whilst enjoying a product that looks, smells and tastes like beer without the alcohol content.

And as the event fell during the Lenten season, attendees could still enjoy a tremendously refreshing beer without the guilt.

Participants visiting the Heineken Tent were treated to cold bottles of Heineken & Heineken 0.0 throughout the day. Later in the afternoon, CBL surprised the participants with samples of our latest product, Amstel Ultra, which offers only 85 calories and 2.4 grams of carbohydrates, making it one of the lightest beers on the market.

As The Bahamas’ leading brewery and distributor, CBL is committed to catering to the local market’s needs and is proud to have non-alcoholic options available to complement those with an active lifestyle.

CBL has outlined vital priority areas for social responsibility initiatives, including supporting health and wellness programs that focus on creating resilient communities, combating national health challenges, and improving access to health services and resources.
