Sydney Clarke advanced to the singles finals of the Under-18 International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament in Trinidad and Tobago.
Clarke came from behind to defeat Audrey Moutama, from France, in three sets. Clarke dropped the first but managed to save three match-points, taking the tiebreaking set 7-6.
Clarke now moves on to take on Canadian Cadence Brace.
Donte Armbrister made it to the quarterfinals on the boy’s side. He lost his match in three sets to American Aidan Kim.
Clarke and her partner Morgan McCarthy, from the United States, also made it to the finals in doubles action. They defeated Sifa Butcher, from the United States, and Leslie Gabrielle. In boys play, Armbrister and his partner Freddie Ridout, from Great Britain, qualified for the finals, defeating Christian Kuehne, from Switzerland, and his teammate Maxime Mareschal-Hay, from Canada.
