Celebrating Bahamian heritage with a “Taste Of Tradition”

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — From July 1 to July 10, in common spirit and common goals, ‘Wybe’ and ‘Tasty with KC’ proudly hosted the “Taste of Tradition,” 2024 contest. This annually held contest designed to embrace and celebrate the rich culinary heritage of The Bahamas brought together food enthusiasts from across the islands to share their culinary creations and showcase the diverse flavors that define Bahamian culture.

Participants were invited to submit photos of their homemade food to Wybe or post and share it online. Bahamian dishes ranged from conch salad and cracked conch to guava duff and Johnny cake.

Tasty with KC, Wybe Ambassador and local food enthusiast expressed her excitement about the event: “Food is at the heart of our Bahamian culture. ‘A Taste of Tradition’ is more than just a contest; it’s a celebration of who we are and where we come from. It was a thrill to see our community come together online to share the dishes that make our heritage so special.”

Kevondre Hield, founder of Wybe, shared his vision for the brand and its future: “Wybe is more than just a brand; it is a feeling and a display of community. ‘A Taste of Tradition’ is just the beginning for us. We aim to create more platforms, outlets, and morally correct partnerships that are focused on building community and unity. We are excited for what the future holds and grateful for the support we’ve recieved.”

The success of ” Taste of Tradition” reflects Wybe’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and pride in Bahamian heritage.
