NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Carnival Corporation has appointed Learline Burrows-Moss as Financial Controller for the company’s Bahamas operations.
Burrows-Moss, a Grand Bahamian, will oversee accounting and finance functions for Carnival Corporation’s three exclusive destinations in the Bahamas, including Half Moon Cay, Princess Cays, and the new flagship cruise destination Celebration Key, which will open in 2025 and is expected to boost the Grand Bahama economy and create hundreds of direct and indirect Bahamian jobs.
With over 15 years of extensive experience in auditing, accounting, and leadership roles, Burrows-Moss brings a wealth of expertise to this pivotal position. Her impressive career spans both public accounting and private industry, including a decade of controllership experience in the utilities sector. Notably, she was the Financial Controller for Grand Bahama Power, where she managed all accounting operations and played a key role in corporate-wide strategic decision-making. Previously, Burrows-Moss held other top financial and account positions, including at Cable Bahamas.
“Learline’s diverse background and proven track record of success – not to mention her deep familiarity with the Bahamas business community – make her an invaluable addition to the Carnival Corporation team in the Bahamas,” said Gisella Mazzilli, Carnival Corporation Vice President of Finance & Accounting, and the company’s Global Ports and Destinations Group CFO. “She has the same keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence that we have noted in many of the Grand Bahamian executives coming aboard our growing team in the Bahamas.”
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Burrows-Moss is an active member of the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Rotary Club of Freeport. She is deeply committed to community engagement and has dedicated her time to training and development initiatives, including serving as a part-time lecturer at the University of Bahamas.
Burrows-Moss said: “Carnival Corporation is demonstrating a commitment to working in partnership with the local community to create economic growth and sustainable development across its three exclusive destinations in the Bahamas. Speaking as a proud Grand Bahamian, I’ve seen firsthand the company’s commitment to our nation and the positive impact it is creating across all sectors of Bahamian society, and I know the new Celebration Key development will be equally transformative for Grand Bahamas and its economy. I am so happy to be part of the team that will deliver this exciting project.”
Carnival Corporation’s appointment of Burrows-Moss underscores its long-term commitment to recruiting Bahamian talent across its operations. Most recently the company pledged to collaborate closely with Bahamian-owned businesses, with the goal of having at least 75 percent of outlets at its new Celebration Key destination owned and operated by Bahamians. Celebration Key is expected to generate over 700 permanent jobs in the community, with approximately 300 positions directly hired by Carnival. Moreover, with its recent $100 million pier extension investment, Celebration Key is poised to make a significant impact on the community of Grand Bahama Island.
