BTC to conduct proactive maintenance on Fixed Broadband Network

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Limited (BTC) will conduct proactive maintenance on its fixed broadband network to provide additional capacity and improve overall reliability.

Maintenance will begin at 12 am and end at 12.10 am each day from June 23-28. During this time, customers may experience service disruptions.

The areas slated for upgrades include Coral Harbour, communities in the vicinity of the airport, Eastern New Providence, Delaporte, South Central, Central New Providence, Paradise Island, Pinewood Gardens, Soldier Road, and East Street. Areas to be upgraded in Grand Bahama include West End, Eight Mile Rock, Freeport, and Lucaya.

BTC’s Director of Customer Experience, Edris Elliott said: “In the last two months, we’ve upgraded even more communities with fiber to the home, and the demand for service continues to grow. This proactive measure will ensure that we continue to deliver the best broadband experience possible for our customers.”

If customers experience disruptions outside of the maintenance hours, they should CALL-BTC (225-5282) to report it, or send a message on any BTC social media page.
