NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Just days before public schools reopen for the 2024-25 school year, BTC hosted a mega back-to-school initiative on Englerston Park last Saturday, August 24th.
BTC partnered with Lowes Wholesale, Lightbourne Trading, and Commonwealth Brewery to execute a fun, memorable event for school children preparing to return to the classroom next Monday.
The students received free food and Vitamalt, and 400 gift bags containing school supplies, snacks, and toiletries were dispersed. Parents who topped up their mobile devices with $5 and downloaded the MYBTC app secured a free haircut or braided style for their child.
The back-to-school event featured many treats, games, and surprises, including demonstrations by the Urban Renewal Band and the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s K-9, Traffic, and Mobile Units. Englerston MP Glenys Hanna-Martin and members of the Englerston Urban Renewal Programme also supported the event.
BTC’s Sales Team offered attendees 50 percent off bundled fiber packages for three months. A representative of BTC’s JUMP program was also on hand to provide more information on this exciting social empowerment initiative, which is expected to offer internet connectivity to families in partnership with the government.
The JUMP initiative is expected to be launched in the coming weeks.
