NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Lightweight boxer Lester Brown Jr. this weekend learned who will be his opponent for his upcoming match on Wednesday in Pensacola, Florida.
Brown (3-1, 1KO) looks to win his fourth fight as a pro against Alvin Brown, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The fight will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
This will be Brown’s first fight under the Roy Jones Square Ring Promotional banner. The 23-year-old signed to hall of fame boxer Roy Jones Jr.’s, promotional company last year.
“He is someone that I respect in the gift game, because honestly, he’s a boxing genius,” Brown said. “When I met him in August he told me to come and workout with him, and when I went that December, I just started working with him.
“He was impressed with my performance because I was able to keep up with some of the top fighters in his stable. Now it’s time to put in more work. This is what I’ve waited on my entire life.”
Brown signed a multi-year deal with a minimum of four fights each year.
“I’m looking forward to getting out and building my record up,” he said. “I know Roy will pick some good matches for me. I was a free agent for a long time, and it’s really hard to get fights as a free agent. Sometimes you pick bad matchups, and that’s not what you want when you’re trying to build your record.”
