BREAKING: Deloitte & Touche Bahamas hired to research new tax initiatives

Deputy Prime and Minister of Finance, Peter Turnquest.

Finance Minister Peter Turnquest today announced that Delloitte & Touche Bahamas has been hired by the government to come up with alternative forms of taxes to replace current business license fees in case they decide to get rid of them.

The announcement came during his 2018/2019 Budget Communication in the House of Assembly.

Turnquest emphasized that though the government is pursuing these avenues, “”no policy commitment has been made to any new form of taxes at this juncture”.
