NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A local pastor has confirmed to Eyewitness News that a concerned resident reportedly telephoned him with information that he allegedly heard screams emanating from a bushy area on Faith Avenue, south of Cowpen Road; after receiving that tip from the resident the religious leader said he telephoned police to make an official complaint.
The screams were reportedly coming from bushes near the area where 12 year old Adriel Moxey was found dead on Wednesday night by local authorities, according to the pastor.
The religious leader told EWN that Adriel was a member of his church and participated in the liturgical dance team; he expressed his sadness over her tragic death and remains hopeful that authorities will find the culprit(s) responsible for the heinous crime.
The pastor was unable to confirm if authorities ever responded to the 911 emergency call at the time that the complaint was made; police have yet to confirm if they in fact received an emergency tip of this nature.
Authorities confirmed late Wednesday that Adriel was found partially clad with a cloth tied tightly around her neck.
