Voluntary separation package (VSEP) applications submitted by employees of Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) have been approved, according to executives of the union representing line staff.

Bahamas Electrical Workers Union (BEWU) President Paul Maynard said that employees whose applications were accepted will be released from the company this coming Friday.

Agreements, however, are subject to certain conditions Maynard explained.

He said a final count has yet to be tallied, as BPL looks to right size the company.
