Fire Services rushed to Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) Clifton Pier power plant over the weekend, to extinguishtwo separate blazes, the first late Friday evening and the latest after 10:00 p.m. Sunday night.
The fires, in both instances, were relegated to station C on the campus, officials said.
BPL executives along with Minister of Works Desmond Bannister held a press conference Saturday to alert the public of load shedding this week as the company addresses the necessary repairs needed to the facility – just 24 hours before the second fire broke out.
It is unclear how much more damage has been impacted to the station.
Investigations into the matter are said to be ongoing.
