NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Firefighters discovered the body of a man after they extinguished a blaze at a home in the Chippingham area shortly after midnight.
The Fire Department was alerted to the blaze on Tyler Street shortly after 12am, according to Assistant Superintendent Audley Peters.
Peters said officers are investigating the structural fire, which resulted in the death of the man and the destruction of the home.
“On arrival, the Delta Unit met a single-storey structure engulfed in flames,” Peters said.
“The fire was extinguished a short time later. A sweep of the dwelling was conducted; this resulted in the discovery of the body of an adult male in the northwestern portion of the dwelling with no signs of life. Investigations into this matter continue.”
