The Bahamas sports tourism product is expected to receive a major boost next month after the South Eastern Conference (SEC) announcement Tuesday, that it will be televising all of the University of Kentucky’s games in The Bahamas.
The SEC Network is estimated by SNL Kagan to have 61.4 million subscribers.
The Wildcats return to The Bahamas in August to play four games in the second edition of its “Big Blue Tour”.
The games are part of a “foreign tour” allowed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) every four years and will take place over five days at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island.
The first three games will tip at 7:00 p.m. with the final game starting at 4:00 p.m. All will also be broadcast by the UK Sports Network on its radio affiliates.
Over the course of the tour, the Wildcats take on The Bahamas senior men’s national team, Team Toronto, Mega Bemax and San Lorenzo de Almagro.
