The Bahamas Basketball Federation (BBF) named the 24-man preliminary pool that will represent the country at the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Men’s World Cup Qualifiers against the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) this month.
The first game of the third qualifying window takes place on June 28 at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with a 5:00 p.m. tipoff.
The last time The Bahamas played the USVI, it suffered a 93-85 loss at home.
The team is coached by Mario Bowleg, with Wayde Watson and Norris Bain serving as his assistants.
Some of the marquee players featured on the list include, Sacramento Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield, projected number one NBA draft pick DeAndre Ayton, veteran and multiple-time team captain Jauran “Keno” Knowles and Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn Jr.
Team Bahamas plays its final qualification game on Monday, July 2, against the Dominican Republic.
