The Bahamian religious community is in mourning the loss of prominent religious leader Bishop J. Rodney Roberts.

The late senior pastor of Five Porches of Deliverance, died of a heart attack Tuesday night – just three days shy of his 64th birthday.

Roberts was known throughout the country for his strong, direct and even blunt rebukes of government and society with what some described as undeniable words of prophecy, many claimed were accurate.

Many of his colleagues hailed him as a man of courage and great impact, including Bishop Ross Davis who described him as a “straight shooter”.

Voice of Deliverance Sr. Pastor and General Overseer Apostle Leon Wallace remembered Roberts as the “prophetic thermometer of the country”.

Five Porches of Deliverance will be closed Thursday as Roberts’ family and the wider Christian community grieves his loss.
