NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Popular American actress and comedian Amanda Seales has accused Bahamian former National Football League (NFL) player Myron Rolle, a Florida State University Rhodes Scholar and Harvard neurosurgeon, of sexual harassment.
Seales, best known for her role as Tiffany Dubois on HBO’s ‘Insecure’, spoke about her alleged experience while on the “The Breakfast Club” and her own podcast, “Small Doses”, without naming anyone.
However, she later named Rolle in her Instagram story.
As reported by the Miami Herald, Seales claimed the alleged harassment took place during phone calls and correspondence on the Internet where she said she was first approached.
“I, on my podcast… and on ‘The Breakfast Club’, spoke about an individual who had approached me on the Internet and we spoke on the phone and they said some troubling things in the conversation that made me take a step back,” Seales said in the Instagram story.
She claimed that she learned another woman had come forward about an incident involving the former Florida State player.
In that alleged incident, Seales claimed the unnamed woman met Rolle at his hotel room and he allegedly greeted her at the door with no clothes on.
Seales claimed eight more women came forward accusing Rolle of behaving in what she described as a “sexually predatorial way”.
She wrapped up the post with, “I say all that to say, if you are approached by Myron Rolle, you should just be mindful”.
Calls placed to Rolle were not returned up to press time.
Rolle was selected by the Tennesse Titans in the 2010 NFL Draft.
In 2012, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers and announced his retirement from the league in 2013.
He has maintained a presence in The Bahamas with youth programs, including the Play-4-Progress initiative.
The program has seen scores of children from across the country take part in the two-day camp, which centres around three principles: education, personal development and the fundamentals of American football.
He has also hosted the Myron L. Rolle Foundation’s Wellness and Leadership Academy, Bahamas edition.
