NASSAU, BAHAMAS—A Bahamian electric vehicle dealer is confident it is on track to surpass last year’s sales by 30 percent, having launched a recent campaign to educate the public on the benefits of driving electric vehicles (EVs).
Pia Farmer, Partner at Easy Car Sales, spoke to Eyewitness News, emphasizing their efforts: “We recently launched a campaign to inform the public about the benefits of driving fully electric vehicles (EVs). Our webpage, www.iamgenerationE.com, offers comprehensive information and fun facts about the EV Life. It dispels myths with factual information and features personal testimonials from EV owners highlighting savings, environmental impact, and the overall joys of embracing the EV lifestyle.
“We aim to bring people together, regardless of age or generation, under Generation E. It’s inclusive, empowering, and aims to make everyone feel good about driving electric,” Farmer added.
Regarding expansion plans, Farmer stated: “We are opening our second sales office on the corner of Abundant Life Road and Independence Drive. Our soft opening is scheduled for mid-August with a full launch in September. Meanwhile, our headquarters are under construction and expected to be completed by late next year. It’s already designed to include a showroom and event spaces.”
Farmer also noted: “This year’s sales are promising. We’re on track to exceed last year’s performance by 30 percent. Last year, we saw a 50 percent increase over the previous year. Our growth is consistent, with an expanding lineup that now includes 12 different models, catering to diverse lifestyles and budgets. Our EVs start at $31,000 with an eight-year warranty. We’ve also introduced three new brands and expanded into commercial vans, trucks, flatbeds, pickups, and various SUV models.”
Reflecting on the growing acceptance of EVs, Farmer stated: “When we started eight years ago, few had seen or driven an electric vehicle. Since then, interest has surged worldwide and here in the Bahamas. People now view EVs as a natural progression in transportation. There’s a strong desire for electric vehicles now. The acceptance level is very high, driven by the understanding that they’re not only environmentally friendly but also cost-effective in terms of maintenance, which is better for both the environment and your wallet.”
