Bahamas tied with Jamaica after day one

The Bahamas is currently in a two-way tie for second place in the overall team standings after day one of competition at the 32ndannual Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships at the Albany Resort Golf Course.

Sophie Anand, Diego Azar, Heathcliff Kane and Tyesha Tynes emerged as the frontrunners for The Bahamas on day one. Each of the players finished top two in their divisions.

The Bahamas and Jamaica both concluded the day with 44 points Puerto Rico leads the way with 53 points.

Team Bahamas manager and coach Alena Hutchinson was quite pleased with the players performance so far.

“Overall it was a good showing for Team Bahamas. Hutchinson added

“In some divisions we had standoff performances It’s a good showing from half of our team, Hopefully the rest will kick into action tomorrow.”
