Bahamas Kidney Association continues fight beyond month of advocacy

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Following a successful Kidney Awareness Month in March, the Bahamas Kidney Association (BKA) said it remains committed to supporting individuals affected by Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) through its Medication Assistance Program.

It described the program’s role as crucial in providing much-needed medication to CKD patients and ensuring their access to essential treatments for their condition.

The BKA also announced Nassau Agencies Ltd. as a new partner in this program. Nassau Agencies Ltd. will provide two cases of Nepro per month toward the medical assistance program: one case of vanilla and one case of mixed berry.

According to a statement from the BKA: “Nassau Agencies Ltd came at a crucial juncture in this program. Their contribution will include a donation from another brand each month, such as vitamins from Fast n’ Up/Nature’s Bounty, disinfectant spray/hand sanitizers from Beep, and self-care items from any of their many over-the-counter lines. These donations will further support CKD patients. This also enhances the services provided by the BKA’s Medication Assistance Program.”

Tamika Roberts, President of the Bahamas Kidney Association, expressed her appreciation, stating: “As we continue our fight against CKD, we are immensely grateful for the support of our partners, volunteers, and the community at large. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of CKD patients and working towards a healthier future for all.”
