Bahamas juniors advance at Lil Mo International Tournament

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) had a good showing at the Lil Mo International Tournament in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Brianna Houlgrave won the under-9 girls’ doubles match. Houlgrave and partner, Valera Rojas, defeated Zenith and Van der Berg 8-4 in the finals.

Addyson Munroe won third place in the under-8 girls singles match. Munroe had some great wins over the number one and number three seeds. Munroe finished in the top three in her age category. This was her first tennis tournament.

Chase Newbold was the under-8 boys singles consolation winner. Newbold had some good wins in the main draw and closed out as consolation champion over Ryan Allen 6-0, 6-3.

Kaylee Kanuka was the under-14 girls singles consolation finalist. Kanuka played well in the consolation round, advancing to the finals.

The BLTA congratulated all of the players who represented well in the tournament, including BreAnn Ferguson, Jackson Mactaggart, Khai Rees, William McCartney, Alec Hooper, Millie Beukes, Jalisa Clarke, Srae Rodgers, Patrick Mactaggart, Zamere Davis, Cameron Ferguson, Kingston Rees and Jack Boals.

The competition featured approximately 500 players from 40 countries.

The players have all gained a wealth of experience during the course of the tournament that they will take with them on their tennis journeys.
