Attempted murder suspects behind bars

Two men suspected in connection with a recent attempted murder got their day in court on Friday.

Kevin Johnson, 21, and Marcus Defrand, 24, both appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt for the attempted murder of Shawquan Johnson.

The two were not allowed to enter a plea and were ordered to return to court on May 3 for a voluntary bill of indictment.

The two will spend the next few months on remand at the Bahamas Department of Corrections.

Father/Son Duo

Meantime, a father and son also had to face a judge on Friday on counts of extortion and kidnapping.

Clive Schroeter, 47, and son Clyde Karrington, 25, also appeared before the chief magistrate in connection with the kidnapping of Albert Petit on March 4th.

The two were also charged with extorting $650 on the same day from petit and a man named Ronald St. Louis
