Athletes get on track at NACAC Championships

Several of the country’s premier track and field athletes competed on Friday night in the 2018 North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Championships in Toronto, Canada.

Cliff Resis finished fourth overall in the final of the men’s 100-metre dash (m) in 10.71 seconds. Alonzo Russell qualified for the final of the men’s 400. He finished third in heat one in 46.88 seconds.

Tynia Gaither qualified for the final of the women’s 200, qualifying in 23.37 seconds. Also, Devine Charlton qualified for the final of the women’s 100m hurdles. She finished third in heat two in 13.07 seconds.

Over on the field, Kaiwan Culmer was fifth over in the men’s triple jump, with a leap of 16.01m. The 2018 NACAC Championships continue today in Toronto.
