Arizona Rolle serving smiles at Sandals

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — She is short in stature but mighty in deeds. Known to her colleagues as the “face of food service,” Arizona Rolle continues to leave an indelible mark on every person who comes in contact with her, constantly raising the service standards at the Luxury Included ® resort on Cable Beach.

The proud Bahamian native is a restaurant manager responsible for the food trucks, the resort’s latest dining concept. She has been with the company since 1997. Rolle has done and seen a lot, but even after so many years, she is still bursting with zeal and zest, just as passionate as the first day she came through the doors of Sandals.

“I take pride in shining brightly every single day and doing things that will blow my guests away. I endeavor to go above and beyond to make my guests happy and my team members satisfied,” she said.

That attitude continues to pay off for Rolle. She has won more than 30 awards at Sandals Royal Bahamian over the years, chief among them is the supervisory award and the award for being the team member that is most mentioned by the guests. Through the Sandals Corporate University (SCU) she is also highly trained and certified in various courses and hospitality programs. She is deemed an expert and is often consulted as such.

But when she started working at the resort some twenty years ago, she was young, impressionable and a clean slate.

“I started out as a restaurant server. I was only 19 years old at the time with no experience working in hotels, all I had was passion. I acquired the necessary skillsets on the job under the tutelage of my supervisors,” she said.

According to Rolle, doors will always open for you once you have the right mindset. At least, that was her story.

“So I was a server for a year and everyone saw that I had the desire to grow and learn. Before you know it, many other opportunities came knocking and being the go-getter I am, I answered.

“I moved from server to weddings captain, then I became one of the first hostesses in the company. From hostess I became a restaurant supervisor then my current role as restaurant manager. That is tremendous growth if you ask me,” Rolle declared with a broad smile floating across her face.

Rolle is a household name across the length and breadth of Sandals Royal Bahamian. When asked what makes her so loved by the guests, Rolle said her personality naturally wins people over.

“It’s my magnetic personality,” she said chuckling. “People who meet me are automatically drawn to me,” she added.

The mother of two shared that she is so “Sandalized” that even her children are dubbed Sandal’s babies.

“I am loyal to this resort and to the brand. This is my family and they have seen me through so many important moments in my life. From having my babies to owning my home,” she said.

She continued: “they have thrown me baby showers and the team members even had a housewarming party for me. How could I not be grateful to this brand? I am Sandals!”

But while she is grateful to the resort, her leaders are equally grateful for her presence.

“Everybody loves Arizona. She is one of the most dedicated restaurant managers and a glue that holds everything and everybody together. She’s a top-tier performer who often exceeds expectations. We are so thrilled to have her on our team,” shared Dante Bain, assistant food and beverage manager.
