Another life snuffed out by gun violence

Murder count nears 30 

A man shot outside his residence nearly two weeks ago, died in hospital yesterday, taking the country’s murder count to 28 for the year, according to police.

The shooting, police said, took place shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Saturday April 28.

According to police, the victim was standing outside of his residence on Jumbey Street, when he was approached by a man, armed with a handgun, who opened fire shooting four men before fleeing on foot.

Police said the victims were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) where they were listed in critical condition.

One of the men died from his injuries on Wednesday.

Shooting under investigation

Meantime, police are investigating another early morning shooting incident, which put one man in hospital.

The shooting, police said, took place shortly after 4:00 a.m. Thursday off Kemp Road.

The victim, police said was shot in the abdomen and is listed in serious but stable condition.

Armed robbers still on the loose 

Police are also on the hunt for two armed suspects who robbed a man late Wednesday night.

According to reports, the victim was approached by two men in front of his residence, who escaped with the man’s 2007 grey Honda Accord, license# AQ1541.
