Andros Post Office clerk accused of stealing over $110k between 2015 and 2020

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A chief postal clerk at the Fresh Creek Post Office in Andros was arraigned in the Magistrate’s Court on charges of stealing over $70,000 from the post office since 2015.

Terry Neymour, 52, appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes and was charged with 11 counts of falsification of accounts and 11 counts of stealing by reason of employment.

Prosecutors allege that Neymour falsified records on 11 occasions, omitting to make entry in the Domestic Money Order Ledge and Deposit Fund, which she was required to do.

She is also accused of stealing on eleven occasions.

It is alleged that between January 21, 2015 and February 7, 2020, Neymour stole a $4,244.77; between December 11, 2015 and February 7, 2020 she stole $10,799.84; between December 1, 2016 and February 7, 2020, $14,574.89; and between January 31 and February 7, 2020, $13,370.48.

Prosecutors also alleged that between February 3, 2019 and February 7, 2020 Neymour stole $2,139.26; between May 3, 2019 and February 7, 2020, $4,244.77; between May 26, 2019 and February 7, 2020, $10,799.84, between August 6, 2019 and Febuary 7, 2020, $14,574.89; September 6, 2019 – February 7, 2020, $13,370.48; between October 6, 2019 and February 7, 2020, $12,195.62; and between November 5, 2019 and February 2020, $13,477.42.

Neymour plead not guilty to all charges.

She was denied bail and advised of her rights to apply for bail in the Supreme Court.

Neymour’s attorney’s Ramona Farquharson-Seymour said the process had already started.

She is expected to return to court on February 8, 2021 for trial.
