NASSAU, BAHAMAS– AML Foods Limited has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the business and assets of Captain Bob’s Seafood & Meat Market Ltd., located in Harbour Island, Eleuthera. The transaction is expected to close on May 4, 2026.
“We are pleased to expand into Harbour Island and build on the strong legacy established by Captain Robert ‘Bob’ Griffin and his partners,” said Gavin Watchorn, President and Chief Executive Officer of AML Foods Limited. “We are committed to continuing that tradition of service to Harbour Island and Eleuthera.”
“Captain Bob’s has been a trusted and well-respected business for many years, playing an important role in serving the Harbour Island community,” Watchorn added. “We thank Captain Bob, his partners, and the management and staff for their dedication and for entrusting AML Foods to carry forward this proud tradition.”
Upon completion, the acquisition will mark AML Foods’ fourth location in the Family Islands. The company had also recently announced plans to acquire Prime Island Meats & Deli in Exuma.
Watchorn noted that the Harbour Island store will operate under a model similar to AML’s existing Eleuthera Markets store in Governor’s Harbour, with a full remodel planned for 2027. “We remain confident in the growth opportunities across the Family Islands and look forward to further strengthening our presence within these communities,” he said.
AML Foods Limited’s food distribution operations include its retail division – Solomon’s Yamacraw, Solomon’s Lucaya, Solomon’s Downtown Freeport, Solomon’s Fresh Market Old Fort Bay, Solomon’s Fresh Market Harbour Bay, Exuma Markets, and Eleuthera Markets – and its club division – Cost Right Nassau and Cost Right Freeport. The company’s Food Service Division consists of Chef Direct, and its Franchise Division consists of ten Domino’s Pizza locations in Nassau and Freeport.
