Three packages of suspected cocaine were seized from an American man attempting to leave The Bahamas via the Lynden Pindling Internationall Airport (LPIA) on Saturday.
According to police reports, shortly before 6:00 p.m., the man presented himself to United States (U.S.) Border Control with a gray duffle bag.
He was initially screened but allowed through. Officials, however, were suspicious of the man and conducted a second screening when drugs were discovered. The man was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
The drugs have a street value of $43,000 with an estimated weight of 6.4 pounds. He is expected to be charged in court on August 29.
